As a creative entrepreneur, a Cancer sun Scorpio rising, Projector, Enneagram 3 with a side of 2 and chronic overachiever with a touch of perfectionism, building a business has been quite a journey (coughs and smirks…). 

I’m not extremely woohoo, but I consider myself spiritual. I believe in energy, cosmic power, manifestation and our bodies and minds being the vessels of so much truth and power. Also, my mother is Buddhist and has been in the alternative medicine field for a few decades, so I grew up with an open window to that world. But I have an alter ego. I call her my “planning bitch”. She’s very analytical, pragmatic and ‘to the point’. She works fast and hard, doesn’t like to waste time and gets things done. She loves puzzles and when she finds one (she will often create them just for the fun of it…), her life becomes all about cracking that puzzle in the most efficient way possible. I carry both these women in me every day, and I believe it’s my superpower: I’m in my feels, but very self-aware. I’m creative, but also a masterful project planner with 10 years of experience in the field. I’m spiritual, but also rooted in reality. I’m highly empathetic, but also know when it’s time to tell it to you like it is. I’m sensitive, but don’t shy away from the hard stuff. It’s a constant ebb and flow and a beautiful dance between my two selves, and they are what makes me me.

A few months ago, I felt burnt-out, alone and uninspired, ready to give up and call it quits but I decided to search deep in myself and crack that puzzle – because quitting is also something I don’t do very often. We grew up on pints of resiliency and a ‘can-do’ attitude over here! And the reality of it was: I felt lonely. Lonely in my business, lonely in my creativity and lonely in my growth. I wanted to find someone to share it with (and, spoiler alert, it can’t be your partner or your family – that’s not their job nor should you put that pressure on them to be that) and so I decided to dare greatly as Brene Brown would say and put myself out there. A creative speed dating mission if you will. 

I threw a bottle in the sea, hoping that someone would catch it and feel compelled by my honest and vulnerable message. And that’s when the universe worked its magic… I met Mindy. It was pure, unbridled magic, I tell you. After only one meeting, we knew this was something different. We connected on so many levels, from our business mission to our personalities, our random quirks and more and I felt fuller than I had in a long time. I found the person I wanted to create something with. And, in an instant, the plan I had carefully curated for myself of what my business/my year/my creative process was going to look like went out a window – and it felt AMAZING. 

We hit the ground fast and hard. After chatting a few times, we realized we both had the same dream: create an intentional and thoughtfully curated experience for women that were probably needing the same thing we were:

• calm to disconnect from their normal lives and do things with purpose
• space to connect back to the essence of their inner creative
• adventure to reconnect with their bodies, have fun and explore new passions 
• community, because the human experience is meant to be shared

Hold on here, I’m not saying if you wish for it hard enough, it’ll just magically happen. You have to actively seek it out. But when you’re aligned with what it is you’re seeking, it finds you.
